The Reno City Council rejected that appeal in a 5-2 vote, giving the project the green light to move ahead.īut again, at this point Station Casinos is not giving any indication on when they plan to move forward with that casino project. The last time this project was in the news was November 2016 when owners of the Atlantis filed an appeal to block the project because it was only gaming and no hotel rooms. ![]() She says there is no updated timeline for the project, but the company did get a special use permit through the city of Reno in July 2016, and according to the city that permit is still good. I checked with Station Casinos spokesperson Lori Nelson down in Las Vegas. Those plans call for a $50 -$70 million casino to be built on eight acres at the corner of Kietzke and S. ![]() The casino plans were first unveiled by Station Casinos several years ago. Michael says he hasn't heard anything about this project in quite a while. Michael Millerick told me he wants to know if Station Casinos is still planning to build a casino on Kietzke Lane across from the Reno-Sparks Convention. One of our viewers who happens to be an Uber driver was giving me a ride this week and told me he's been wondering about plans for a new casino resort in Reno. ![]()
